Crime Doesn't Pay, But Crime Stoppers Niagara Does
St. Catharines Golf & Country Club was originally located on the grounds of today's Ridley College. In 1909 the Club relocated to the Westchester Avenue site and the course was built with the design assistance of Stanley Thompson, the prolific Canadian golf course architect. Over the years, the course has matured and changed with the most significant alterations occurring when the province routed Highway 406 through a corner of the Club's lands. More recent changes occurred when the pond was enlarged to provide adequate water resources. Those and other course modifications have been with a master plan designed by Ian Andrew, our golf course architect.
The St. Catharines Golf & Country Club golf course has been on this site since 1910. The Stanley Thompson original design has been modernized and improved with the benefit of a course architectural master plan. Our members love the convenience of the course being located in the centre of the City.
Our Crime Stoppers program is an extremely successful organization within the Niagara Region, with numerous cases solved from tips provided to us. But with great success comes more payouts to those tipsters, and Crime Stoppers Rewards are not funded by tax dollars. Money for the operation of Crime Stoppers and rewards is raised from the private sector (people just like you). Crime Stoppers provides a means of gathering information and handing it over to the appropriate authorities from sources that may not be normally attainable. We have a great out pouring of support from our community businesses and partners, and we encourage golfers of all levels to join us for this fund raising event.
Crime Stoppers of Niagara and Avondale Convenience Food Stores are proud to join forces in 2018 to deliver the Annual Crime Stoppers Niagara Golf Tournament.
This 2nd annual edition of the tournament will be held on Monday September 18 at The St. Catharines Golf and Country Club with a total of 144 golfers expected.
We have a great out pouring of support from our community businesses and corporate partners, and we encourage golfers of all levels to join us for this fundraising event. Proceeds raised help Crime Stoppers of Oxford inform and educate our schools, seniors and the general public within Oxford County as well as providing cash rewards to tipsters.
